Senior Accountant
Hybrid: Fairfax, VT preferred (remote considered for qualified candidates)

Responsibilities:
The following duties may be done independently or as a key member of the team, working closely with colleagues and owners.
General Ledger Management:
- Lead & complete month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing journal entries.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Support AP/AR oversight and implement process improvements alongside Staff Accountant.
- Maintain and enhance accounting systems and procedures.
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements and ensure GAAP compliance.
- Assist with budgets and forecasts.
- Assist with year end third-party review and covenant reporting.
Financial Analysis:
- Provide financial insights to support business decisions.
- Monitor key metrics and identify trends.
- Prepare ad-hoc reports as needed.
Collaboration & Systems:
- Partner with operations and other teams to support business objectives.
- Understand ERP and general ledger integrations.
- Mentor and support junior staff.
Cost Accounting (a plus):
- Analyze manufacturing costs and variances.
- Develop costing models and assist with inventory management.
Other duties as required and assigned.
Qualifications & Attributes:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
- 5+ years of accounting experience; manufacturing or CPG experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, core accounting and financial reporting.
- Experience with QuickBooks, Cin7, and advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communicator with a collaborative approach.
- Committed to continuous learning and process improvement.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to change.
